Snowshoe Stays & Trips 

 You want to enjoy with your family and/or your friends several days walking in the snow, looking like a band of "Big-Foot's" having fun together ?

You want to learn all the secrets of the wintery nature ? 

Come on and enjoy the Montagnes & Compagnie stays in the french Alpes.

From two to five days, during a short week-end or a whole week, you will discover with an experienced mountain  guide all the secrets of the nature life during this so particular season : animals tracks and habits, local history (and stories...), vegetal life under the cover, snow - we should even say snows -  structure and evolution, etc. It will also be a good opportunity to learn a lot about how to predict the avalanche risk and how to behave in case of avalanche : how to use your ARVA (Avalanche Rescue Device) to rescue a friend lying under the snow.

For those who love a change of scenery, Montagnes & Compagnie also propose trips of several days duration in mid mounatin, from refuge to refuge. An original way to explore winter. 

Good to know : all our stays or trips include  snowshoes & poles hire, mountain guide for the whole stay/trip duration, the nights in refuges, hôtels or inns, the meals (breakfeast, diner and pic nics at midday and transportation from your arrival point (to be agreed together : train station or airport).

A night in Igloo

How about an unforgettable week-end experience in the Vercors?

Come visit us with your family and/or friends to have the time of your lives in a snowhome - yes, an IGLOO and it's for real !

To reach your igloo dream home, the first step will be for you to take the train on an adventure packed wintery saturday morning from wherever you are to the train station at Valence TGV. At the train station, a minivan will be waiting to drive you and your group to the next step via the breath-takingly spectacular and mystical mountains of the Vercors.

At the end of the gorgeous drive through the mountain ranges, you will meet your guide who will greet you with a pair of snowshoes. With this gear, you'll be ready to start your adventure through the immaculate sheet of snow, which may uncover many a winter-mysteries for you, thanks to the miracles of mother nature: animal footprints, secret tunnels through ice, fun slides on improvised slopes… until you reach the night camp.

Here, you will experience what it feels like to set up your own 'guest house for the night' - an IGLOO!!

Once you've achieved this feat, your guide will reward you with a stomach-warming "fondue savoyarde" - a specialty of the Savoie Region made with piping hot melted cheese. After a last drink and a fun chat, you will happily jump in your sleeping bag that will turn out to be very comfortable and cozy after all !!!

This experience will fill you with a host of unforgettable sights sounds and feelings, and sure enough, you will long for your next time sleeping under the magical snow.
